An educational gemstone tour.

Mahenge is the place where the famous hot pink spinel and very recently the blue cobalt spinels are coming from. The mountain range climbes up to 1000 meters above sea level and offers stunning views with plenty of marble outcrops. We will be welcome in a dealers office and meet a series of gemtraders followed by a visit to one of the mining sites, Epanko or Lukande. After the visit of the Mikumi National Park we will return to Dar-es-Salaam where we vitsit more gem dealers. Total 10 days US$ 1'980.- Price per person in a double room. US$ 2'150.- Price per person in a single room. The flight to Dar-es-Salaam in Tanzania is not included. Dates July 25th - August 04th 2027 July 30th - August 09th 2028 We provide: Privileged access to the mines. Guides with a solid mineralogical and gemological background. Transportation including airport transfer, Hotel and breakfast during the entire Gemstone Safari. We organize the necessary paperwork for export of all cut and rough gems. A restriction is in place for 8 rough minerals in facet quality larger than 2 grams. They are : Tanzanite, Diamond, Spinel, Tsavorite, Chrysoberyl-Alexandrite, Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. Access to a gem cutting workshop, equipped with Ultra-Tec faceting machines and cabbing machines. A professional gem cutting service. Samples are available here: faceting or concave faceting.
