Gemology training at SEAMIC

The class room laguage and the class documentation is english. Kurssprache ist Englisch. L'enseignement est en anglais.

During this one week training you will learn, practice and perfect your skills under the eyes of trained professionals. Our main focus is to provide functional and industry related skills through a combination of lecture and practical application.

Increased demand for gemstones continues to drive different people to develop interest and enter into the gemstones business. However, there is a growing realisation that the lack of skills to identify the different varieties of gemstones as well as the use of inappropriate terminology hampers business transactions. Technical knowledge needed to identify and separate a wide range of gemstones is becoming more crucial bearing in mind that there is lot of synthetic and imitated gemstones in the market now.

The course has been designed to introduce a theoretical basis and practical gemmological skills for the examination and identification of gemstones and their simulants and reinforce skills and knowledge on most common gemstones found in the Southern and Eastern Africa region.

With the benefit of limited class size and personalised instruction, students quickly develop highly valued skills in gemstone identification when they study at SEAMIC. It takes you only one week to acquire the skills and recognition of a fully qualified professional.

Frequently students translate the ties made during classes into rewarding business collaborations. There is no better place than SEAMIC for making contacts and finding valuable business associates. The certificate from SEAMIC is a symbol of your integrity and expertise, your key to a successful career.
